Oscar Wilde once said that, ‘life is too important to be taken seriously.’ And i agree.
I believe that being a silly goose is essential. Now, you might be thinking, "Why on earth would anyone want to be a silly goose?" But hear me out.
In our truly chaotic and often stressful world, it's easy to get caught up in the seriousness of life. We're always striving to be productive, successful, and responsible. we have to hold strong opinions on everything and if we don’t give our piece it means we do not care. We're told to be mature, sensible, and practical. And while these are important qualities, they're not the only ones that matter.
Being a silly goose is a way of embracing the randomness and whimsy of life. It's about letting go of our inhibitions and embracing our inner child. It's about finding humour and delight in the ordinary moments of our day-to-day lives. We’re over-intelligent apes on an organic spaceship floating through infinity. I don’t feel like anything about that isn’t silly, do you?
When we allow ourselves to be silly geese, we tap into a sense of playfulness and creativity, two things that are paramount for our mental and emotional well-being. We release tension, reduce stress, and cultivate a more light-hearted and positive outlook on life. A silly goose time is fun, but it also has a purpose. There is always some method to the madness,
Moreover, being a silly goose can help us connect more deeply with others. When we let our guard down and allow ourselves to be, well, ourselves, we create a sense of openness and vulnerability that can help to build trust and intimacy in our relationships. You know a person is comfortable with you when they can unleash the geese. (#UnleashTheGeese)
Of course, being a silly goose doesn't mean being irresponsible or reckless. It simply means finding ways to inject a little humour into situations. It means not taking ourselves too seriously and embracing the absurdity and unpredictability of life. Writers, for examples, are always seen to be these serious pensive people eternally. It sometimes feels like you have to always be serious to be a writer. And i fully disagree with this conclusion. You can be both serious and silly. They’re not mutually exclusive qualities.
so, as I said at the start, being a silly goose is essential. It's a way of embracing the joy and whimsy of life, of cultivating creativity and playfulness, and of connecting with others. So, the next time someone tells you to be serious, or the next time you find yourself taking life too seriously, take a page out of the silly goose's book and let yourself run amuck. You might just find that it's the best thing you ever did.
I think we need a handbook on how to be a silly goose!! 🦆🤪
